New SJ-100 airliner becomes fully Russian: 100% domestic components

Superjet was originally conceived as an international project with French participation

The Russian passenger airliner SJ-100 has become fully import-substituted. This was pointed out by a French aviation expert, former pilot Cyril de Lattre.

According to him, Superjet was originally conceived as an international project with the participation of France, which was engaged in cabin equipment and avionics.

It was a very interesting concept that Russia proposed in order to open its market and present its capabilities to investors and partners from abroad. This made it possible to create an aircraft in demand for export, which was certified to operate in many countries.

Today, de Lattre emphasized, Superjet can already be considered a completely Russian aircraft.

It has 100% Russian components. This is a very valuable asset.

The prototype of the Superjet aircraft on March 17 made its first flight with domestic PD-8 engines. The flight took place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The plane was in the air for about 40 minutes, reaching a height of up to 3,000 m and a speed of 500 km/h.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian airlines withdrew 58 aircraft from operation due to the impossibility of repair.
