Уникальные стратосферные беспилотники «Аргус» с высотой полёта до 25 км начали выпускать в России

UAVs are capable of loitering over a given area for a month

Engineers from the Russian company "Stratolink" have begun creating two stratospheric unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) "Argus". The characteristics of the newest products have become known.

Technology demonstrators that will be able to provide communication and internet services to facilities remote from large cities and developed infrastructure. The drones will be able to rise to a height of approximately 18-25 km and loiter over a given area for a month or more thanks to four electric motors.

The long flight of the Argus UAV will be provided by renewable energy sources — solar panels located on the upper plane of the wing. The pseudo-satellite will be able to carry a payload of up to 40 kg. In particular, an optical module with a rotating platform will be placed in its front part, designed to install devices for observation and remote sensing of the Earth.

For example, cameras, spectrometers, rangefinders, and similar instruments. Various telecommunications equipment can be placed in the internal compartment in the drone's body.

Wingspan — 40 m, cruising speed — up to 140 km/h, weight — 315 kg, flight altitude — 25 km, payload — 40 kg, flight time — up to 40 days, power — 7.4 kW.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian SSJ-100 New airliner has begun the flight part of certification tests.
