The unique Russian radar station (RLS) «Nebo» is operating on the line of combat contact. The system has detected HIMARS rockets, ATACMS ballistic missiles, various aircraft-type drones, helicopters and enemy aircraft, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
The head of the radar crew, Ruslan Nugmanov, said that F-16 or Mirage fighters try not to fly into the station's radius of action for fear of immediate detection.
The crew has already detected HIMARS rockets, ATACMS ballistic missiles, various aircraft-type drones, helicopters and enemy aircraft.
The operating range of the «Nebo-SVU» radar is up to 400 km. Three revolutions of the radar and the military already understand what target is coming - enemy or friend. After that, the crew transmits information to the command post, and then the detected target is destroyed by air defense systems, for example, «Buk».
