Russian engineers have equipped glide bombs with the "Kometa" jamming suppression system, making their navigation system resistant to enemy "jammers," Forbes reported.
Enemy jammers were suppressing signals from GLONASS satellites and sending the glide bomb a signal with incorrect positioning and navigation data.
"Kometa", integrated into the unified planning and correction modules (UMPC) of the bomb, compares the strength and angle of signal reception to identify the real signal and block the signal from jamming devices. The system has already proven its effectiveness.
The Russian military uses "Kometa" on other platforms, including aircraft, drones, and ground vehicles.
