Yandex has released an updated version of its own phone number identifier for iPhones, which runs on iOS 18.
The new version of AON (Automatic Number Identification) can recognize fraudulent and other unwanted calls with an accuracy of 93%. Now, the caller ID receives data from its own replenishable online database with more than 70 million numbers, which is ten times more than in the previous version, the company said. To enable the identifier to work with this database, the developers implemented a real-time call identification mechanism.
In iOS 18, the caller ID accesses its own online database with each call. This happens instantly and does not delay the call in any way. The company is constantly replenishing this database, including through feedback from users, thanks to which they can send information about useful and unwanted numbers to the identifier themselves.
AON can be enabled with a command for the virtual assistant "Alice" or manually in the "Services" block on the main page of the application with "Alice."
