The Kaliningrad plant "Avtotor" at the Kazan Truck Expo presented unique projects for converting old cars into electric vehicles. One of the most striking exhibits was the electrified VAZ-2101, which became a full-fledged electric car after modernization.
For this, the car was equipped with lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt batteries with a capacity of 180 amp-hours, and the range on a single charge is up to 150 km. The introduction of an electric transmission increased the weight of the car to 1050 kg.
The "Zhiguli" retained its original air cooling and four-speed "mechanics", and the interior also remained unchanged. The battery can be charged from a regular outlet in six hours.
Avtotor clarified that the cost of re-motorization for passenger cars ranges from 1 to 1.5 million rubles, excluding registration and a donor car.
Earlier, AvtoVAZ revealed details about the new Lada Iskra. The car received sound insulation even in the trunk and athermic glazing.
