The Russian large-caliber machine gun with belt feed for the 12.7 × 108 mm cartridge was developed by designers Yuri Bogdanov and Aitugan Namitulin. The weapon was created to support offensive and defensive operations of the infantry, the press service of Rosoboronexport reported.
The Kord machine gun, distinguished by its accuracy and high range of target engagement, can be used as a high-precision small arms weapon. The machine gun poses a threat to lightly armored targets, low-speed aerial targets, and enemy manpower.
«Корд» can be installed on:
- various platforms (including robotic ones)
- combat vehicles
- helicopters
Advanced design solutions have significantly improved the ergonomics, safety and efficiency of using this weapon.
