Crews of the Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems need to always remain vigilant and not stay in one place for a long time. This was stated by division commander Anatoly.
The most difficult thing is constant vigilance. Not staying in place, constantly moving, improving your knowledge of what the enemy is using. This is the main point, because without knowing the enemy, you will not be able to make the right decision. This is the most important thing.
The Pantsir air defense missile system was developed at the Instrument Design Bureau named after Academician A. G. Shipunov (part of the High-Precision Complexes holding of Rostec). The system is designed for close-range defense of civilian and military facilities, as well as for covering long-range air defense systems.
Main characteristics of the Pantsir-S1 air defense missile system using the example of hitting an aircraft with an effective scattering area of 2 m² and a flight speed of 300 m/s:
- Missile armament in range — 1200-20000 m, in height — 15-15000 m
- Gun armament in range — 200-4000 m, in height — 0-3000 m
- Number of simultaneously fired targets — 4
- Maximum speed of targets hit — 1000 m/s
