Specialists of SKB-1 (part of the military-industrial holding "Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant", KMZ) have begun designing a boat with the function of a boom-laying vessel "Kasatka-BP". Such boats will be equipped with ice-class Arc4 supply vessels of project 22430. This was reported by the holding's press service.
«Касатка-БП» is designed for 8 people. The boat is designed for the deployment of boom barriers during the localization and elimination of accidental oil and petroleum product spills.
The architectural and structural type is a closed single-hull, single-deck vessel with a central wheelhouse, a bow cabin, an aft engine compartment and a fender bar.
«Касатку-БП» will be launched from the carrier vessel using a special single-point disconnecting device mounted on the power mast.
About project 22430
Project 22430 was developed by JSC "Central Design Bureau "Lazurit". This is a shallow-draft ice-class Arc4 supply vessel.
