Неприятный сюрприз: перед 14 февраля мошенники придумали очередной развод со спа-салонами и ресторанами

Attackers have created a scheme that offers potential victims the chance to "win" a romantic evening for two

Scammers are becoming more active before Valentine's Day. They send fake messages from spas and restaurants, supposedly on behalf of your partner, promising a pleasant surprise. The goal is to steal users' personal data, said Andrey Biichuk, Product Director of MTS Defender.

With the approach of holidays such as Valentine's Day, the activity of scammers is growing. One of the most common schemes is messages sent from certain "companies" - for example, spas or restaurants. The messages indicate that your significant other has made a pleasant surprise for you, and to confirm and activate the gift, you need to follow the link or enter some personal data on phishing pages.

Scammers often send messages about "night sales" and "winnings." They offer large discounts on popular products or a romantic evening, but to receive the "prize" you need to pay a small amount or share personal data.

This is another trap. The information can be used by scammers to steal money.

Another popular scam is a call from a supposed courier. The telephone interlocutor introduces himself as a delivery service employee and reports that an anonymous gift has been sent to the client. He asks to name the code from the message or follow the link to confirm the delivery address. In fact, this link leads to a phishing site that allows scammers to access personal information, an account on "Gosuslugi" and other services.

In anticipation of Valentine's Day, scammers also deceive single men. They create fake profiles of girls in dating apps. The victim receives a message from a girl who offers to spend the holiday together. The man, not suspecting deception, agrees. Then the girl sends a link to buy tickets for a theatrical performance, opera or stand-up. Most often, scammers use a quick payment system to steal money. After payment, they disappear, and the man is left without money and with fake tickets.
