South Ural State University (SUSU) has developed and patented an independent system for recording anomalies in traffic flows. This was reported by the university's press service.
The system does not use expensive GPS sensors.
Secondly, such import independence makes the system safer than those where GPS is used. Thirdly, it is an accuracy of measurements up to 25 cm, and this is important, since such deviations in the trajectory of the traffic flow are already capable of creating a traffic jam on the road.
The new system operates on the basis of a neural network that receives data from street surveillance cameras. Artificial intelligence analyzes streaming video in real time, detects anomalies and reports them to the dispatcher.
Scientists plan to train the neural network to make forecasts of the development of the road situation. The development can improve the safety and efficiency of traffic management in cities.
Earlier www1.ru reported that smart transport systems were installed on the roads of the Tver region.
