Цены на новые легковушки в России выросли на 1,5–5% с начала года

The main reasons for updating price lists are the continued increase in the utilization fee and the instability of exchange rates

With the arrival of the new year, the Russian car market has seen an increase in prices for new cars, as expected. The process is quite unpredictable, but large-scale, market participants and experts note. According to analysts' forecasts, prices may increase by 10% in the first half of the year.

Since the beginning of the year, prices for new cars have increased by 1.5–5%, depending on the model. This applies to both Chinese brands and the Russian Lada, the cost of which has increased by an average of 1.8%. The main reasons are the continued inclusion of the recycling fee in the cost of cars and exchange rate fluctuations, said Sergei удалов, a representative of Avtostat.

The expert notes that not all the consequences of the indexation of the recycling fee, which occurred in October 2023 and January 2024, are taken into account in the price of cars.

Promotions and discounts are being canceled, while prices for the new model year are changing. For some models, the price change is up to 4–5%.

According to Andrei Olkhovsky, General Director of Avtodom Group, the largest price increase is observed in brands that had small balances at the end of the year. At the same time, the increase in себестоимости is more noticeable in the warehouse, which is regularly replenished.

Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine, stressed that the price change is quite chaotic. This does not apply to all brands and models of cars. According to him, pricing policy is influenced not only by the recycling fee and the exchange rate, but also by the automaker's position in the Russian market, as well as its future plans in the country.

The Russian Automobile Union (ROAD) expects that prices may increase by at least 10% during January-February. Andrei Terlyukevich, General Director of AvtoSpetsCenter Group, said that some suppliers have raised prices by an average of 3% since January 1. He added that now everyone is closely monitoring traffic indicators and sales dynamics in January to understand how the mood in the market is changing. According to the results of December, it became clear that some brands use a balanced approach to pricing, which helps them maintain a high level of sales.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian car market may face serious problems. According to the AEB forecasts, in 2025, sales of new cars may decrease by 15%, despite the fact that in 2024 they showed growth.
