The vessel will receive a helicopter platform for landing Ka-32

The Vyborg Shipyard is building a diesel-electric icebreaker of project 21900M2 (based on project 21900M), which was laid down in 2022 for FSUE Rosmorport. The construction is supervised by specialists from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

The vessel will be able to provide icebreaker escort and towing of large-capacity vessels, transport cargo (up to 33 containers on the open part of the upper deck). The icebreaker is expected to be commissioned in 2028.

In the 2010s, the Vyborg Shipyard implemented project 21900M. Shipbuilders built three diesel-electric icebreakers: «Vladivostok», «Murmansk» and «Novorossiysk». The vessels are highly maneuverable and capable of performing icebreaking operations with ice thickness up to 1.5 m.
