The former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg will produce the Lada Iskra SW Cross car. According to a source at "Russian Automobile," the probability of such a decision is 98%.
Specifically as Lada, not as X-Cite.
Production launch is scheduled for August-September 2025. By this time, the production of Chery cars will likely end naturally.
However, the contract with Chinese partners will most likely not be officially terminated, as the plant still has obligations for warranty service of previously produced X-Cite models.
Earlier, AvtoVAZ assembled a new cross-wagon — Lada Iskra SW Cross. This car, painted in the new enamel "Tabasco," is a demonstration model. Since not all the plastic in the cabin has stock embossing yet, the component manufacturer has ordered the missing parts. After their installation, the car will undergo a full cycle of refinement before the presentation. Mass production is scheduled for 2025.
