На базе советской подлодки: представлена новая российская подводная платформа «Мурена»

The unified robotic "Murena" will be useful for engineers, rescuers, scientists, and extreme tourism enthusiasts

The Malakhit Design Bureau, part of USC, has presented its new development. The universal robotic platform "Murena" is designed for transporting divers and cargo during underwater technical operations in the construction of extended and area-based facilities.

According to the USC press service, "Murena" is based on the Soviet Project 908 Triton-2 ultra-small submarine. The platform can be used as an underwater vehicle for research and extreme underwater tourism.

Also, the universal underwater platforms "Murena" can be used for:

  • transporting divers and their equipment to the site of underwater technical operations up to 60 miles from the base locations without the involvement of ships or supply vessels;
  • ensuring the simultaneous operation of groups of divers at dispersed points of the water area from one supply vessel;
  • delivering cargo in conditions where it is impossible to position the transport vessel in conditions of complex bottom relief or stormy conditions on the surface of the water area;
  • technical maintenance of underwater structures and communications;
  • inspection of extended objects;
  • mobile deployment of search and rescue operations, including for the search of lost equipment in unloading areas.

Earlier, a new Russian underwater robot "Scanner" with a metal detector was presented at Korabelka. It will not only help in laying communications and inspecting underwater parts of bridges, but also be useful in underwater archaeology.
