Russians have been warned about a new fraudulent scheme involving compulsory medical insurance policies. To gain access to the "Gosuslugi" portal, fraudsters convince the victim of the need to update personal data, otherwise, the compulsory medical insurance policy will allegedly be canceled.
To date, we have recorded stories from fraudsters that due to the mandatory data update, a person's current policy will stop working, it will be deactivated.
She emphasized that the goal of the attackers is to obtain an authentication code from SMS, which allows opening access to the personal account on the "Gosuslugi" portal. The expert reminded that under no circumstances should the code from the message be transmitted.
It's like the keys to your apartment – after all, no one will give them to some stranger, no matter what he says.
Khrapunova also noted that insurance companies independently make changes to policies, and old policies on the "Gosuslugi" portal are updated automatically.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that attackers began sending electronic cards with the .gift extension and reduced images. These materials contain malicious code, which is downloaded to users' devices and allows fraudsters to collect their personal data.
The Ministry of Digital Development, together with the Central Bank and law enforcement agencies, has prepared a number of draft laws, the purpose of which is to limit opportunities for attackers.
