Россия завершит разработку широкофюзеляжного самолета с двигателями ПД-35 после 2030 года

Alikhanov stated that work on the project is already underway

Russian aircraft designers will complete the creation of a Russian wide-body aircraft with PD-35 engines after 2030. This was announced by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov.

The completion of work on the creation of the aircraft is beyond 2030, that's how I'll put it. I won't be more precise, but the most important thing is that the work is underway.
Anton Alikhanov, Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation

The development of the PD-35 engine started in the summer of 2016 at two plants: the Rybinsk-based "Saturn" and the Perm-based "Aviadvigatel" (both part of the United Engine Corporation).

It is assumed that the PD-35, unlike the previous modification PD-14, will have a thrust of 16 tons more, up to 35 tons.

The PD-35 engine is necessary for the Russian aviation industry to create new wide-body aircraft. A demonstrator model of the PD-35 aircraft engine has successfully passed the first stage of testing.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the import-substituted Russian MC-21 airliner is almost ready for certification tests.
