Rosatom to Build Electric Charging Hubs in Kaliningrad

Rosatom signed cooperation agreements on the development of electric car sharing in the Kaliningrad region

TVEL (fuel division of Rosatom State Corporation) has concluded several agreements on the development of mass electric car sharing in the region with the government of the Kaliningrad region and several companies.

Among them is Delimobil, the largest car-sharing operator, with which an agreement was reached to combine efforts to create electric car sharing in the region with the necessary electric charging infrastructure. An agreement was also signed with Kaliningrad-based Kenig Rent, which leases and leases cars.

In addition, an agreement was concluded with the EES operator Voltfuel to synchronize market plans for the development of electric charging infrastructure. Finally, an agreement was reached with Avtotor on the joint promotion of electric vehicles in other regions of the Russian Federation, similar to the Kaliningrad region; the companies have been cooperating in the production of electric vehicles for three years.

Residents of the region should have access to the Delimobil service with 500 electric vehicles manufactured by Avtotor and the electric charging infrastructure of fast EES hubs.

The first hub for "fast" charging of electric vehicles for ten stations with a total capacity of 1.5 MW was launched on Oktyabrsky Island in the Moskovsky district of Kaliningrad. The second hub, consisting of five electric charging stations with a total capacity of 750 kW, was opened at Khrabrovo Airport. The manufacturer of equipment for electric charging stations is Parus Electro, which is part of Rosatom.

Fast charging stations are designed for simultaneous connection of up to three electric vehicles and are able to fully charge the car in 30-60 minutes. Charging hubs are a relatively new format for the Russian market, which has already attracted interest in the project from taxi and car-sharing operators that have electric vehicles in their fleet.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Rosatom's gigafactories will begin producing batteries for 100,000 electric vehicles per year in 2026.
