Завершилась приемка нового восьмивагонного электропоезда ЭС104 «Финист»

The "Ural Locomotives" plant confirmed the compliance of the new product with the requirements of technical specifications

The commission for the acceptance of the eight-car electric train "Finist" of the ES104 series has completed its work at the "Ural Locomotives" plant. The commission included heads of Russian Railways divisions, specialized research institutes, as well as representatives of component suppliers.

Almost a year has passed since the start of operation of the new high-speed Russian electric trains "Finist" of the ES104 series on the railway network. To date, 30 five-car "Finist" trains have already been delivered to the customer. They serve routes in five regions of Russia: Sverdlovsk, Kurgan, Tyumen regions, the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Perm Territory.

During the past year, conclusions were drawn about the results of controlled operation, which made it possible not only to work on eliminating shortcomings, inevitable at the beginning of the path of any new product, but also to determine the further path of the new technology - this, of course, is the development of the product line. The eight-car ES104 train was created taking into account the peculiarities of routes in the north-western regions of the country, where it is necessary to ensure a higher intensity of suburban transportation.
Vitaly Brekson, First Deputy General Director for Technical Policy

The eight-car "Finist" is distinguished by increased power-to-weight ratio - it is twice as powerful as the five-car "Finist" ES104 and provides an average acceleration from 0 to 60 km/h with a coefficient of 0.9 m/s² (the five-car "Finist" has 0.7 m/s²). The layout of the eight-car train cars has been changed - it has 652 seats (including eight seats in the area for the train crew, four seats for passengers in wheelchairs), more space for bicycle parking has been added. The function of automatic passenger counting at the entrance to the car has been added.

In addition, acceptance tests, research and development work on this project have been fully completed. The result was summed up by a two-day acceptance commission, which confirmed the compliance of the train with the requirements of technical specifications, the product was assigned the letter O1 and a pilot series of 60 electric trains was determined. It is planned that the plant will receive a certificate for the new eight-car train by the end of November.

The plant will continue the tradition of annually presenting new series and modifications of high-speed trains. Next year, it is planned to certify the two-system "Finist" of the ES105 series, which will be sent for testing in November 2024.
