The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has modernized its transfer case for SUVs and trucks, according to insiders.
Changes affect the design: the length of the 40th gear tooth is increased by 2 mm, which improves the engagement of the direct drive gear with the rear axle drive shaft. This, in turn, ensures more stable transmission operation. At the same time, the thickness of the rubber damper has been reduced to two millimeters, which eliminates the self-disengagement of the transfer case direct drive.
Last week, it became known that the plant also plans to replace 90% of the die tooling for the production of body panels for vans, minibuses, and trucks of the SGR family ("Bukhanka").
Earlier, UAZ acknowledged problems with the quality of its cars, citing sanctions as one of the reasons. After criticism of the quality of cars, the manufacturer took significant steps to improve its models.
