In 2023, about 140,000 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were delivered to the Russian Armed Forces

Russian enterprises have dramatically increased the production of highly demanded weapons, and also improved their characteristics taking into account their use in combat conditions, said Russian President Vladimir Putin during a speech at a meeting of the Military-Industrial Commission on the development of special-purpose UAVs.

According to the head of state, the defense industry enterprises are working clearly and doing everything necessary to fulfill the state defense order. They supply weapons, ammunition and equipment to the Russian Armed Forces.

Last year, about 140 thousand UAVs of various types were sent to the army. Putin stressed that it is planned to increase the production of drones almost 10 times.

The range of unmanned systems is expanding, unmanned boats and robotic platforms for multipurpose use are being created.

Earlier, Putin visited the site of the defense enterprise "Special Technological Center" in St. Petersburg. The President inspected an exhibition of robotic complexes.

He was shown tracked platforms, kamikaze drones, reconnaissance systems with UAVs, and samples of loitering munitions. Putin drew attention to the «Орлан» drone, which is used in combat operations.
