A team of students from the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) has developed a unique device for charging mobile phones in emergency situations. Unlike standard power banks, which require charging in advance, the new device is capable of accumulating energy on its own, using various sources, which makes it indispensable in extreme conditions.
The unique development provides for the use of several methods for recharging the device, which ensures its reliable operation in the absence of familiar energy sources.
Where does the energy come from?
Solar panel. Although this is a fairly common solution for autonomous charging devices, a solar panel may not be available in conditions of limited access to sunlight, for example, at night or indoors.
Radio wave energy. The device can intercept energy from cell towers, which is especially useful if the user is within mobile network coverage.
Peltier element. This module generates the necessary electricity due to the temperature difference, for example, when placing the device near a fire or on a hot stone.
Vibration energy. The power bank is capable of accumulating energy from vibration, using the principle of oscillation of magnets near induction coils, which will allow you to charge the device while walking.
All device modules are compact and can be used alternately, depending on the specific situation. This makes the power bank especially useful for tourists, climbers, military personnel, as well as for those whose work requires a long stay away from power sources.
Project manager, senior lecturer at MAI Vasily Egorov, emphasized that there are currently no analogues of such a device on the market. This opens up prospects for successful commercialization of the project. It is expected that the final prototype of the device will be ready in the spring of 2025, after which its mass production and launch on the market will begin.
