Major Retailers Support FAS Proposal to Limit Markups on Home Appliances and Electronics

FAS Proposed that DNS, M.Video, and Citilink Voluntarily Limit Prices

The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) has approached major retail chains such as DNS, "M.Video," and "Citilink" with a proposal to voluntarily limit prices on popular models of home appliances and electronics. According to the agency, such measures could positively impact the market, preventing significant price increases on in-demand goods.

The FAS recalled that in 2023, retail chains had already undertaken similar obligations, which helped keep prices for home appliances and electronics at an acceptable level. As a result of such actions, it was possible to improve the availability of important goods for consumers.

The Antimonopoly Service also emphasized the importance of a responsible approach to pricing and the need to prevent unjustified price increases.

DNS, "M.Video," and "Citilink" supported the FAS initiative to limit prices and markups on home appliances and electronics. The press service of "M.Video" reported that a list of goods, the prices of which will remain fixed for a month—from the end of August to the end of September—will be prepared in the near future.

Online retailer "Citilink" also expressed support for the FAS initiative. Company representative Denis Kovarsky noted that a list of goods for which the cost will be reduced is currently being prepared.
