The Russian 96K6 Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system (SAM) intercepted a low-signature, low-altitude UJ-26 Beaver (Bobr) kamikaze drone. The drone, which has an effective reflecting surface of about 0.07 sq. m, was detected by the 48Ya6-K1 Podlet-K1 low-altitude detection radar at a distance of about 37 km. This was reported by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
The Podlet-K1 radar took the aerial target for tracking and issued target designation to the Pantsir-S1 SAM system crew. At a distance of 15 km, the UJ-26 Beaver was detected by a radar module with a new S-band target detection station (TDS) of the Pantsir-S1 complex. The TDS was developed at the Tula-based Central Design Bureau of Instrument Engineering (TsKBA).
After that, the "Bobr" was taken for tracking by the 1RS2 "Shlem" guidance radar and the 10ES1 multispectral optoelectronic module. At a distance of 12 - 10 km, a high-speed 57E6M SAM was used for interception.
