Photos of a high- проходимости truck from the Gorky Automobile Plant have appeared online. Insiders have already dubbed GAZ's new development the successor to the legendary GAZ-66 truck, which received the popular name "Shishiga."
The new SUV is made on the basis of the Sadko Next chassis, and the cabless cab is taken from the Valdai NEXT. Conceptually, it repeats the GAZ-66 cab, since it is located above the engine. The car has been under development since 2022, but when the SUV will be ready is unknown.
There are also no technical details. Industry experts believe that the 5.4-liter engine from the Sadko Next will not fit into the cabless cab, so some other engine may be used there, for example, 2.5 or 2.8 liters, from other GAZ models.
It should be recalled that the GAZ-66 was produced from 1964 to 1999. It was actively used in the army and agriculture.
