Bifuel versions (gasoline + gas) of the Moskvich car will be produced in Naberezhnye Chelny from August this year. Ramil Ishmaev, Commercial Director of RariTEK Engineering, spoke about the details of the production of gas vehicles.
This year we have planned to [produce] more than one thousand units of these cars.
It is planned to convert the Moskvich 3 crossover and the Moskvich 6 liftback to use methane. The cost of cars will increase by approximately 130 thousand rubles.
Thus, a gas-powered Moskvich of the third model will cost from 1.82 million rubles to 2.03 million rubles, depending on the configuration. Such a car will have a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and a six-speed manual or a CVT.
The Moskvich 6 on methane will cost from 2.33 million rubles to 2.53 million rubles. It has a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and also a CVT.
All gas equipment will be installed at the RariTEK Engineering enterprise in Naberezhnye Chelny, where the final tests of the cars will also take place. It is claimed that the gas equipment will pay for itself in nine months of operation, while the annual mileage of the car must be at least 50 thousand kilometers.
Most likely, the purchase of Moskvich cars running on gas will be of interest to taxi drivers, as well as people who travel a lot on the highway.
