PJSC UAC announced that a prototype of the Russian import-substituted Russian aircraft SJ-100 with tail number 97003 has begun flight tests for certification. In the first flight today, the domestic fuel system was tested.
The flight lasted 2.5 hours, and it went as planned. 15 test modes were performed, and no equipment failures were recorded in any of them.
In total, we have to perform about 200 flights by the end of 2025, their intensity will certainly increase with the addition of two more prototypes to the tests, which are currently awaiting the installation of PD-8 engines in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. These tests will allow us to guarantee the safety of millions of passengers who will be on board the SJ-100 in the coming years. To date, we have applications for the supply of over 150 aircraft: in addition to the contract with the Aeroflot Group, these are more than 60 orders from various airlines.
It is worth noting that to speed up the certification program, the first prototype aircraft performs flights with Franco-Russian SaM-146 engines. The other two SJ-100 samples will be completely domestic. They will take to the air and join the tests when the PD-8 engine is approved for flight.
