The preparation of American ATACMS ballistic missiles for launch is much faster than that of British Storm Shadow cruise missiles. At the same time, Western projectiles lose in speed to missiles launched by the Russian Iskander operational-tactical missile system (OTRK), said military expert Vladimir Yeranosyan.
He clarified that before the strike, the Storm Shadow military plans a route taking into account the terrain based on data obtained from satellites. Next, they enter target data for its identification and raise aircraft into the air to launch Storm Shadow or use a ground platform. Yeranosyan emphasized that in the case of ATACMS, everything is done much faster.
ATACMS, based on saving deployment time and making a decision to attack, poses a greater threat. The speed of our Iskander is twice as fast as that of ATACMS, but these missiles cannot be discounted.
