Russia and Thailand are negotiating the acceptance of cards of the Russian payment system "Mir". This was reported by representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Thailand.
The issue of introducing the Russian payment system "Mir" in Thailand remains relevant. Its consideration is being conducted by relevant departments on a bilateral basis, but it is too early to talk about specific dates for integration.
At the moment, we would consider it premature to indicate any timeframe for the introduction of the use of payment system "Mir" cards in Thailand.
Experts additionally noted that the process of launching "Mir" cards in Thailand is complicated by the presence of sanctions. Difficulties are also noted in those countries where the payment system has already been implemented.
Bangkok is indeed strongly influenced by the general international background, and this is the most important factor in the slow progress on this issue.
Today, the "Mir" card can only be used locally in Thailand. This is possible through the acquiring system (non-cash payment for purchases) of third-party payment systems.
Earlier www1.ru reported that SberPay entered Turkey.
