The Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation plans to provide benefits for operators to pay for the use of 5G frequencies. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev, speaking at the conference "Telecom of the Future".
The ministry considers the use of 5G frequencies as a promising standard. Therefore, operators will either not be charged a fee, or they will set a coefficient of 0.1.
We plan to make the most favorable conditions possible here for telecom operators who are building networks.
This initiative may be implemented by the Ministry of Digital Development to stimulate the construction of networks.
It is worth noting that the department already reduced the rate for using 4G frequencies in 2013, it is 0.1 coefficient and is still valid. However, in 2023, Maksut Shadaev stated that the benefits are planned to be canceled to stimulate the growth of new technologies.
Earlier it was reported that Russia in 2024 will start preparing for the deployment of 5G and 6G networks throughout the country.
