He explained that in order to hit a target at a distance of 15 km, there is no need to fire a missile with a range of up to 300 km at it. That is why it is important that SAMs can strike using different types of missiles.
Alexander Mikhailov, a representative of the Bureau of Military-Political Analysis, said that this function has already appeared in long-range SAMs. Different types of missiles are used by the crews of the S-300V, S-300V4, and Antey-2500 complexes.
According to him, this direction will be developed for short- and medium-range SAMs. Mikhailov recalled that the Kupol plant plans to produce a compact, cheap missile. It can be used in the fight against drones, he concluded.
