To Help "Tsar Tanks": Russian "Akhmat" Armored Car Receives "Tsar Grill"

Protection Against Enemy FPV Drones — Total

Recently, Russian "tsar equipment" with powerful anti-fragmentation and anti-drone protection has repeatedly "appeared" online. Now, an enhanced Z-STS "Akhmat" armored car with a "Tsar Grill" has been added to it. This armored car, designed by "Remdiesel" in just 25 days in 2022 by a rush order from Chechnya, initially had significant potential for modernization and additions.

According to "Rossiyskaya Gazeta", the three-axle 18-ton armored car has now received maximum supply of anti-drone nets, in addition, the front of the structure has a chain frame. Network protection makes it possible to perform combat missions, transport cargo and the wounded, and it simply looks intimidating.

A similar system was recently added to the AMN-590951 "Spartak" armored car as well. In this case, there was no chain structure in the front, but reinforcements appeared on the sides near the wheels for anti-fragmentation and anti-bullet measures.

Tank power is also becoming a material for transformation and maximum reinforcement. Recently, a video was shown online with the fate of one of the Russian T-72s after its turret rotation mechanism was completely disabled after a direct hit. The broken part was re-welded and turned into a structure that was dubbed the "Tsar Tank."

It is known that this modified T-72 received double side armor made of sheet metal, anti-drone screens, and the ability to fire directly. Presumably, it can also carry a group of assault fighters inside.

Another T-72 became a "Tsar Tank" in terms of anti-drone protection. In addition to the all-round iron frame, it received a mysterious mini-electronic warfare system of eight-antenna stations. This electronic warfare system, whose name and characteristics are unknown, was recently spotted on the T-72B3 and T-90M "Proryv".
