The Kalashnikov Concern has completed the shipment of another batch of improved AK-12 assault rifles to the customer after a full cycle of mandatory testing. The modernization of the appearance and technological changes of the assault rifle is carried out taking into account the combat experience of military users.
In the design of the 2023 model AK-12, the two-shot cutoff mode was abandoned. But in this latest version, the following appeared:
- non-removable slotted flash suppressor-compensator;
- trigger mechanism with a two-way selector-safety;
- new diopter sight with a flip-up rear sight with holes of various diameters for shooting in conditions of limited visibility and bad weather;
- lifting cheek piece for ease of aiming when using optical or night sights;
- a different system for attaching the receiver cover and handguard design.
Some of the changes are kept secret: representatives of the concern only note that "a number of technological updates have been made to the 2023 model AK-12, which have improved its performance characteristics". At the same time, the assault rifle has become lighter, and its design is still ergonomic and convenient for combat use.
