Kaspersky продемонстрировал бета-версию магазина приложений для своей мобильной ОС

The new mobile app marketplace will launch in mid-summer 2024

Kaspersky Lab has showcased a prototype of a new domestic app store for its own KasperskyOS operating system. The development is called Appicenter.

Dmitry Lukiyan, Head of Business Development for KasperskyOS, emphasized that all applications on the platform will be free. Appicenter will be divided into a catalog with programs and a separate web portal for developers. The mobile app marketplace will launch in mid-summer 2024.

The first demonstration of the project took place during the Kaspersky Cyber Immunity Conference. The catalog's design involves free downloading of applications for further distribution. Developers will be able to add their projects only after passing a platform check. The creators of the marketplace have not yet specified what mechanism they will use to control the quality of uploaded materials.

The developers promise that Appicenter will offer users applications not only from domestic but also from foreign manufacturers.

There are always local manufacturers in each region, country, and therefore, international collaboration and the appearance of international applications in our catalog are indispensable
Dmitry Lukiyan

However, according to Dmitry Lukiyan, the main emphasis is still planned to be on working with Russian application developers.

Earlier, the head of Kaspersky Lab, Evgeny Kaspersky, showed a new smartphone based on KasperskyOS.
