Deadly "Piranhas" Destroy Abrams Tanks: Ulyanovsk Establishes Assembly of Up to 300 FPV Drones per Day

Simbirsk Design Bureau Produces 64 Configurations of the "Piranha" Drone

Specialists from the Simbirsk Design Bureau (Ulyanovsk) have increased the production of "Piranha" strike drones to 300 units per day. Production is fully localized in Russia.

According to a representative of the Design Bureau, the "Piranha" has 64 configurations, including a version with a night camera, thermal imager, rotating camera, and explosive release system.

The standard "Piranha" drone performs three tasks: one-way flight (kamikaze mode), flight with return to the operator (explosive release), and reconnaissance mission

Technical specifications of the "Piranha" FPV drone:

  • Payload - up to 5 kg
  • Flight range - 15 km
  • Drone weight varies depending on configuration within 2 kg

The "Piranha" drone was first discussed after it destroyed an American M1A1 Abrams tank in late February 2024. The drone strikes armored vehicles, the cost of which is hundreds of times higher than its own cost. It was created for attacks on dugouts and enemy trenches.

Earlier, "Shvabe" engineers presented anew quadcopter with a thermal imager at the "Expotechnostrazh" forum
