At a meeting in the State Duma, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin spoke about the current state of affairs in shipbuilding at Russian shipyards. He emphasized that 300 ships are currently under active construction. The prospective plan until 2035 envisages the production of 1,700 civilian vessels. Contracts have been concluded for 178 of them, with the rest in progress.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that such measures would allow shipbuilders and manufacturers of ship equipment to plan orders more systematically. He also noted that a new strategy for the industry until 2035 is being developed jointly with the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
Mishustin's main focus was on the task of ensuring serial orders and scaling up production. According to him, it is important not only to increase production volumes, but also to systematically configure a digital model for the development of production and design tools.
This new strategy will allow the shipbuilding industry to develop effectively and successfully compete in the global market. The Prime Minister assured that the state actively supports this process and considers it important for the country's economic development.
As a reminder, earlier the Russian government had already allocated 125.8 million rubles from its reserve fund for the development of the shipbuilding industry and the completion of five experimental design projects.
