Tractor Plant with Full Production Cycle Launched in Russia for the First Time in 52 Years

Rostselmash has launched a full-cycle plant for the production of tractors. This is the first such production in Russia in 52 years.

The new tractor plant receives about 80% of the components for production from its own Rostselmash production sites and from other Russian enterprises.

The complex covers an area of 14 hectares, 62 thousand square meters of which are allocated for workshops and warehouses. To launch such a large project, investments were required: the Industrial Development Fund and the regional government helped here. In addition, at the state level, Rostselmash received subsidies for discounts on its products for Russian farmers as support.

The implementation of the investment project officially started in September 2021.

The plant has everything necessary for bending and welding metal, machining, painting and assembling machines. It was built with a high degree of automation, and is equipped with devices with built-in quality control - they minimize the human factor in the production and allow you to track all stages of tractor assembly on the assembly line. At the same time, people are still employed at the plant: at the initial stage of production, there are already 1,850 jobs, including high-tech ones.

The plant's production capacity is five thousand tractors per year with a capacity of 170 to more than 600 horsepower with an articulated and classic frame, on a tracked chassis. However, the plant will not be limited to tractors: it will produce telescopic and front loaders and excavator loaders.

The tractor plant is one of the three new Rostselmash productions associated with ensuring Russia's technological sovereignty and import independence. Prior to this, in 2024, a plant for agricultural machinery and a transmission plant had already started operating.

The total investment in all three new plants exceeds 22.5 billion rubles. It is expected that more than three thousand people will be employed at them.
