The Kommersant publication reviewed Apple's reports on the purchase and use of precious metals for the production of its equipment. The documents state that the "apple company" in 2022 refused tungsten, tantalum and gold from Russian manufacturers "at the request of the US government." But at the same time, the document indicates that Apple uses tungsten from the Moliren plant in the Moscow region.
As for Samsung, it continues to purchase precious metals in Russia – the Korean company's report includes the enterprises "Hydrometallurg" (ZAO "Company \"Wolfram\""), "Moliren" ("Spets сплав-service"), Unechsky Plant of Refractory Metals (UZTM), Solikamsk Magnesium Plant (SMZ) and others.
However, if there are no Russian enterprises in the report, this does not mean that Apple has completely abandoned Russian metals. Sergey Grishunin, Managing Director of the NRA Rating Service, explains the situation: "In general, we can say that if Americans refuse to buy metal in Russia, then they are simply sold metal from another country that buys it from the Russian Federation."
