The production of commercial electric vehicles based on the Ural Automobile Plant "Profi" has started in the "Technopolis Moscow" special economic zone in Tekstilshchiki. The trucks are called EVM Pro. The official ceremony was attended by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov and the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin.
EVM Pro is built on the basis of the rear-wheel drive Ural Automobile Plant "Profi". The usual gasoline engine here has been replaced by an electric motor producing 85 kW or 116 hp, and a lithium-iron-phosphate traction battery provides a range of up to 300 km. With a gross weight of 3.5 tons, the payload is 1 ton. A full charge from a 40-kilowatt charger (it is included in the delivery package) takes about 2 hours.
Despite the fact that EVM Pro is inferior in its characteristics to the gasoline version (it has more power and more range on a full tank), there is demand for the car. "We have more than 300 firm contracts. The total number of pre-orders for cars is more than 500. From the moment the first cars leave the assembly line, their shipment to customers begins, pilot projects and car testing begin," said Ilya Rashkin, CEO of the manufacturing company "Electric Vehicles Manufacturing Rus".
The share of domestic components in EVM PRO is more than 70%, including all on-board electronics, steel and non-ferrous rolled products, chassis, sensors and plastic. The minimum price, excluding government subsidies under the preferential car loan program, is 4.5 million rubles.
