If you had asked ordinary Russians five years ago whether the country could create its own fully import-independent passenger aircraft, most likely the answers would have been with clear notes of denial, very skeptical. However, today it is a reality, not a fantasy. And it's ours.
In the material of «First Technical» — about a necessary and timely project in the field of civil air transportation. The appearance of such a complex machine in our time is a sign that Russia, at least in this area, is shaking off the 90s and returning to the Soviet capabilities of developing its own machines.
How it started: from SSJ-100 to SSJ-New
In 2008, it all started with the Sukhoi Superjet 100. The plane soared into the sky in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. It was the first domestic passenger aircraft created after the collapse of the USSR.
However, it did not become completely ours; the SaM146 engines were a joint development of France and Russia, and avionics came from Europe. However, in 2022, foreign suppliers evaporated, and Russia was left with only one way — to rewrite everything from scratch. Thus was born the Sukhoi Superjet New.
A decisive update of everything
SSJ-New is not a modernization, but a virtually rewritten aircraft from scratch. Import substitution is not 50%, not 80%, but reaches 97%, which means replacing everything: from hydraulic systems to software, from the engine to navigation devices. And, of course, its own engine — PD-8.
And instead of a heart — a fiery motor
If the SSJ-100 flew on the SaM146, then the SSJ-New already runs on the PD-8. Turbojet, with a thrust of up to 80 kN, with a service life no lower than that of foreign analogues. In all respects, the PD-8 is simply obliged to surpass the praised SaM146.
Will ensure the country's technological sovereignty
SSJ-New is a completely domestic, Russian «100». But work is already underway on the SSJ-120 — a liner with 120 seats, as well as the SSJ-75— with the PD-10 engine. These projects will create a family capable of competing with Boeing, Airbus and others.
SSJ-New is more than just an airplane. It is a symbol of the country's technological sovereignty. This is proof that we can do complex, modern things with our own hands.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Major General of Aviation called the plans to build 100 MS-21 aircraft by 2030 unrealistic
