LADA Niva "Marsh" is a unique modification of the regular three- or five-door Niva, which has been produced since 1995 by PSA BRONTO. The car was first presented in Nizhny Novgorod in a swimming pool to immediately demonstrate the scenario of use and capabilities of the car and became a sensation of the event, later reaching the Paris Motor Show.
Soon, it was officially discontinued as an amphibious vehicle, since the float wheels could not always give buoyancy to a fully loaded car, but the off-road qualities continue to impress. The car, whose main feature is huge ultra-low pressure tires, has become an indispensable assistant to oil workers and drillers in swampy and snowy areas. UAZ axles, low ground pressure and the ability to inflate tires from the cabin make the operation of the "Marsh" much more practical than using all-terrain vehicles or helicopters in difficult conditions. Also, thanks to its characteristics, the wheels do not harm the fragile nature of the North, leaving the vegetation intact.
Initially, the car was produced only for special services, but later it became clear that the northern regions are a familiar zone for LADA "Marsh", because back in 1999, the first attempt was made to get to the North Pole in this car. After delivering the car to the nearest point, it drove about 10 km on its own, reaching the zero point of the pole. The event was celebrated by driving the car through all time zones.
However, they decided not to stop there, and the following year an expedition was organized in which the polar run of the "Marsh" was already 309 km, including 50m, which the car swam in the waters of the Arctic Ocean due to a crack in the ice into which the expedition fell. The group failed to reach the final point then - a huge polynya at the pole prevented it, which forced the car to drive nearby. In the same year, the car became available for purchase to everyone.
The maximum speed of the car reaches 70 km/h, and it is helped to gain it by a VAZ-21213 engine with a capacity of 80 hp. For an all-terrain vehicle, this is more than a decent indicator.
LADA Niva "Marsh" can be purchased today, the car is produced in small series based on the three-door LADA Niva Legend.
