The capacity of the Ulyanovsk plant "Aviastar" for the production of the Il-76MD-90A aircraft needs to be doubled within 2.5 years, said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov.
According to him, the task is to increase the volume of production of aircraft that are handed over to special customers, including the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Defense. Alikhanov stressed that it is important to increase opportunities in terms of supplies for military-technical cooperation.
We have orders from various friendly countries. The first task is to double production capacity within the next two and a half years and triple it within three and a half years. This is such a large comprehensive program, we will start implementing it this year.
Alikhanov stated that the production of Il-76 at the end of 2027 will increase to 12 per year. According to him, "Aviastar" has reached the production of seven aircraft per year. Increasing the production of the Il-76 military transport aircraft will require investments of about 46 billion rubles.
