The capacity of the Ulyanovsk plant "Aviastar" for the production of the Il-76MD-90A aircraft needs to be doubled within 2.5 years, said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov.
According to him, the task is to increase the volume of production of aircraft that are handed over to special customers, including the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Defense. Alikhanov stressed that it is important to increase capabilities in terms of supplies for military-technical cooperation.
We have orders from various friendly countries. The first task is to double production capacity within the next two and a half years and triple it within three and a half years. This is such a large comprehensive program, we will begin to implement it this year.
Alikhanov stated that the production of Il-76 will increase to 12 per year by the end of 2027. According to him, "Aviastar" has reached the production of seven aircraft per year. Increasing the production volume of the Il-76 military transport aircraft will require an investment ofabout 46 billion rubles.
