The SV-98 sniper rifle and the Vityaz-SN submachine gun were adopted by Russian security forces 20 years ago, the press service of the Kalashnikov concern reported.
The 7.62 mm SV-98 was developed as a high-precision sniper weapon for special forces of the Russian Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies to engage the enemy with aimed fire at ranges up to 1000 meters.
7N1 and 7N14 cartridges are suitable for the rifle. It is possible to install a low-noise and flameless firing device on it. The SV-98 is mass-produced at Kalashnikov's production facilities.
