The launch of serial production of the new medium-range missile system «Oreshnik» will enhance the operational and combat capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces. This was stated by military expert Mikhail Khodarenok.

He emphasized that the Iranian-Israeli conflict showed how formidable a weapon operational-tactical ballistic missiles are, even in conventional configuration. And «Oreshnik» «is a head above» all OTRKs due to its unique characteristics, Khodarenok concluded.
Russia first used new missiles in a non-nuclear version in November 2024. The designated target was hit.
