Voronezh Aircraft Production Association (VASO), which manufactures Il-96-400 long-haul airliners, has been fined 60,000 rubles for violating payment deadlines to a supplier. This was reported by the regional FAS department.

"Voronezh Integration Company" supplied VASO with products worth 664.9 thousand rubles, but the plant did not transfer the money within the established seven-day period.

Now VASO will have to instruct employees responsible for timely payment for supplies.

Recently, a more serious case was initiated against the enterprise – the energy company "Atomsbyt" filed a lawsuit for 32.6 million rubles. Taking into account previous claims, the total amount increased to 68 million rubles.

VASO is the only serial production site for the Il-96-400M in Russia. Aviation expert Oleg Panteleev explained that the airliner was initially uninteresting to airlines, which chose Boeing and Airbus.

Earlier, "Pervy Tekhnichesky" conducted a direct comparison of the Il-96-400M with the global benchmark for long-haul efficiency – the Boeing 777-300ER.
