The launch of the Russian private Earth remote sensing satellite "Kinosputnik" with an ultra-high resolution camera is scheduled for late November 2026, announced Vsevolod Shevtsov, Deputy General Director of the Sputnix company.

The spacecraft will be launched into orbit by a Soyuz launch vehicle as part of the cooperation between Sputnix and Roscosmos. The satellite is built on the Pallada platform for small spacecraft and is equipped with a multispectral camera that allows obtaining images with a resolution of less than one meter. This will make it possible to distinguish objects comparable in size to a passenger car in the images.

Data obtained from "Kinosputnik" is planned to be used for construction monitoring, infrastructure control, and other applied tasks. In the future, the launch of several such spacecraft will allow the creation of a low-orbit constellation for operational Earth remote sensing.

As Vsevolod Shevtsov noted, for the development of the Russian private space industry, companies need guaranteed demand. This will allow forming full-fledged satellite constellations to solve various problems. He also emphasized the trend of transitioning from providing data to processing it using artificial intelligence and delivering a ready-made product to the customer for their area of interest.
