Shipbuilders of the Amur Shipyard have moved the first of nine blocks of the floating transport dock Amur (project 17574) under construction out of the workshop. The new technical fleet vessel will help expand the range of orders for the enterprise, the press service of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK) reported.

The block was moved to the trestle and transported using transfer trolleys to the Amurets dock-pontoon. It will then be moved to the outfitting pier, launched, and subsequently secured.

Amur shipbuilders completed the formation of the block, performed its conversion (temporary sealing of technological cutouts and openings), painted the assembly joints, and conducted tests. Specialists plan to move out three more blocks of the future dock in the near future.

Project 17574 was developed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau as part of the OSK Dock Program for the modernization of the transport and launching complex. The document provides for the renewal of the infrastructure of the corporation's key shipyards.

Dock characteristics:

  • Length — 177.8 m
  • Width — 32 m
  • Length of vessels to be received — up to 150 m
  • Autonomy — 20 days
  • Draft — variable (due to receiving or pumping out overboard water from ballast tanks)

The Amur is designed for transporting various types of floating structures along the river of the same name from their construction site to the port of Vladivostok. Advanced technologies were used in the construction of the floating dock.
