By 2035, the Russian aircraft industry will be able to produce about 550 passenger aircraft of the main models, and the MS-21 will become the main serial airliner. This forecast was made by Roman Gusarov, editor-in-chief of the AVIA.RU portal and aviation industry expert.

According to the expert, this refers to five key OAK aircraft: MS-21, SJ-100, Il-114-300, Il-96, and Tu-214. These aircraft are expected to form the basis of the domestic civil aviation fleet in the coming decade.

Gusarov noted that the stated volumes primarily reflect the production capabilities of enterprises, rather than guaranteed output. The actual number of aircraft built will depend on the volume of orders from airlines.

The biggest bet is placed on the medium-haul MS-21. The expert believes that this model could account for approximately half of the total number of OAK aircraft produced. After certification is completed and planned capacities are reached, the production of the airliner should reach about 36 aircraft per year.

The MS-21 will be more than all other aircraft combined, or about half of the total output. At the same time, the import-substituted SJ-100 can be produced at a rate of up to 20 aircraft per year.

Separately, Gusarov drew attention to the situation with the wide-body Il-96-300. Despite the technical capabilities for producing the aircraft, demand for it remains limited due to modern market requirements. According to the specialist, the model was created for a different era and today does not fully meet the expectations of airlines.

The regional projects "Osvey" and "Baikal", which are developing separately and were not previously included in the main comprehensive program, are not included in the calculation of approximately 550 aircraft.
