In Mordvinova Bay, Sakhalin, tests were conducted on systems for detecting and suppressing aerial drones and naval drones (unmanned surface vessels, USVs), as well as countermeasures against drones. This was announced by Sakhalin Oblast Governor Valery Limarenko at the "Krylya Sakhalina" forum, which opened on Friday in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

According to Limarenko, security issues are currently considered a priority. Developers must find solutions that will "work ahead of the curve," he emphasized.

The Governor of Sakhalin Oblast noted that the results of these experiments will be evaluated by manufacturers, experts, and heads of relevant departments. Effective solutions can be used to protect infrastructure facilities.

According to Limarenko, qualified personnel are essential for the development of the unmanned industry. Thus, a training center has been organized in the region based on the "Avrora-BAS" company. Students from grades 2 to 11 are taught to operate drones. In addition, a technical school has opened in Sakhalin Oblast to train specialists in this field, the governor concluded.
