"Superjet" Surpasses Boeing and Airbus in Reliability

Head of OAK Urges Not to Fear Flying Russian Aircraft

Russians have no objective reasons to fear flying domestic aircraft. The airliners meet all modern requirements, and their certification undergoes the strictest standards, stated Vadim Badeha, head of the United Aircraft Corporation.

According to him, the aviation industry traditionally has more serious safety margins and is in no way inferior to the best foreign models.

The best confirmation is the operation of the "Superjet," whose reliability indicator is sometimes higher than that of Boeing or Airbus. They fly on the Moscow – St. Petersburg shuttle every 45 minutes. They have confirmed all the best parameters.

Aviation expert Roman Gusarov explained to "Pervy Tekhnichesky" that domestic engineers historically incorporate a higher safety margin into aircraft.

In the case of the MS-21-310, this ultimately resulted in an overweight condition and limited range, but the load will still be reduced.
